Ichchapuram, October 11 (News): The Sharannavaratri celebrations of Sri Sri Sri Swetchavathi Ammavaru, the presiding village goddess of Ichchapuram town, commenced on Sunday, October 11, 2026, in a grand and deeply spiritual atmosphere. The nine-day festivities will continue until Monday, October 19, followed by Vijayadashami celebrations on Tuesday, October 20.

On the first day, special rituals began at the temple early Sunday morning. Amid the sounds of traditional musical instruments, the goddess was ceremonially awakened, followed by special abhishekams, prayers and other religious rituals performed according to tradition.

Devotees began arriving at the temple early in the morning to seek the goddess’s blessings and offer prayers. The temple premises resonated with devotional chants, creating a spiritual atmosphere throughout the town.

In view of the expected influx of devotees during Navaratri, the temple committee has made arrangements to facilitate a smooth darshan experience. These include queue management, drinking water facilities and the orderly distribution of prasadam.

The temple authorities expressed hope that a large number of devotees would participate in the nine-day Sharannavaratri celebrations and seek the blessings of Sri Sri Sri Swetchavathi Ammavaru.
