Odisha Cabinet Pushes Administrative Reform Across 31 District Industries Centres

Bhubaneswar, 07/09/2026: In a move aimed at strengthening grassroots industrialisation, the Odisha government has taken steps to streamline the administrative structure of the 31 District Industries Centres (DICs) across the state.

The move is expected to support the implementation of initiatives such as the One District One Product (ODOP) programme by improving coordination and providing greater administrative support to local entrepreneurs, artisans, weavers and MSMEs.

From File to Field: Administrative Reform

DICs serve as an important point of contact for rural entrepreneurs, artisans, weavers and MSME units. Differences in staffing patterns and administrative capacity have created challenges in the effective delivery of various government schemes, including PMFME, PMEGP and other state-level initiatives.

The proposed measures are aimed at bringing greater uniformity to the staffing and functioning of DICs. The structure includes various managerial and field-level positions to strengthen support for entrepreneurs at the district level.
