Ludhiana: Two Suspected Doni Bal Gang Operatives Killed in Police Encounter, Attack Plot Under Investigation

Ludhiana, September 14, 2026: Two alleged operatives linked to the Doni Bal gang were killed in a police encounter in Ludhiana on September 13, following a joint operation by Ludhiana Police and the Punjab Police Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF).

The encounter took place in the Atam Park area of the city. Police initially identified the two deceased suspects as Karanjot Singh alias Nona and Sandeep Singh, residents of Sultanwind in Amritsar. However, subsequent reports indicated that the identity of the second deceased was being reviewed by police, and an official clarification was awaited.

Encounter in Atam Park Area

According to police officials, the joint team was carrying out an operation in the area when the encounter took place. Police said that around 24 rounds were exchanged during the operation and that both suspects were killed in the ensuing exchange of fire.

Police Claim Attack Was Being Planned

Police officials said the two suspects were allegedly planning an attack on a blood donation camp being organised at Marryland Palace on Dugri Road in memory of slain Congress leader Ravi Khwajke. According to the police, the suspected plan may have been linked to rivalry between criminal groups.

Investigation Underway

Police said the operation was part of efforts to prevent the suspected attack and trace individuals allegedly associated with the gang. Investigators are now examining the alleged network and the circumstances surrounding the suspected attack plan.

The incident has brought renewed attention to police efforts to tackle organised gang activity in and around Ludhiana. Further investigation is underway to establish the complete sequence of events and determine the involvement of other individuals, if any.
