Two Juveniles Apprehended in Delhi Over Alleged Murder of 16-Year-Old Boy

New Usmanpur, Delhi: Delhi Police have apprehended two juveniles in connection with the alleged murder of a 16-year-old boy whose body was found in a pit at a DDA park in northeast Delhi's New Usmanpur area, officials said.

The two juveniles, aged 16 and 17 and residents of Ghaziabad, were apprehended on Tuesday. According to police, they allegedly lured the victim to the park on the pretext of buying slippers before attacking him with a knife.

Police said the victim's body was found in a pit inside a DDA park near Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital on Tuesday morning with multiple stab injuries. A blood-stained knife was also recovered near the body, following which a case was registered at New Usmanpur police station.

A forensic team examined the crime scene and collected evidence. Police teams also analysed CCTV footage and conducted technical surveillance to establish the victim's identity and trace those allegedly involved in the incident.

During questioning, the juveniles allegedly told police that they worked at the same factory as the victim and claimed that he frequently bullied and harassed them.

According to police, the juveniles called the victim to the park on the pretext of purchasing slippers. An argument allegedly broke out during the meeting, following which the victim was attacked with a knife. The juveniles then allegedly fled the spot.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
