Why Grief Has No Timeline: Lessons from Vipasha Sood’s Debut Book
Author Vipasha Sood Launches Debut Book ‘Still in Grief: Love, Loss and What Remains’
Mumbai: Author and creative professional Vipasha Sood has released her debut book, Still in Grief: Love, Loss and What Remains, published by Profound Writers Publication. The book is dedicated to the memory of her late mother and father and explores the emotional experience of dealing with the loss of loved ones.
Launched on September 6, 2026, Still in Grief presents a personal and reflective account of navigating life after the sudden loss of parental figures. Through her writing, Sood examines the different ways people experience and process grief.
In a society where people often find it difficult to openly discuss emotional pain, Sood describes modern life as a “grief-illiterate society” — one that readily acknowledges success and milestones but may struggle to respond when someone experiences significant personal loss.
A central theme of the book is that grief does not follow a fixed timeline. Sood explores the idea that healing does not necessarily mean forgetting loved ones or leaving their memories behind, but learning to move forward while continuing to live with the loss.
What began as a personal journal to process family trauma has developed into a book intended to connect with readers who are navigating grief and the emotional challenges that can follow a major loss.
Sood brings more than a decade of professional experience in creative direction, design and storytelling. Alongside the book, she has also spearheaded Unsaid, Spoken, Heard (@un.saidspokenheard), a community initiative focused on encouraging open and judgment-free conversations around mental health and loss.
Still in Grief: Love, Loss and What Remains is currently available for readers in India through Amazon India.
