Passengers Raise Concerns Over Harassment on Train No. 22611 from MGR Chennai Central to New Jalpaiguri

Passengers traveling on Train No. 22611, operating between MGR Chennai Central and New Jalpaiguri, have reported instances of individuals allegedly demanding money inside train compartments, leading to discomfort among some travelers.

According to passenger accounts, a few individuals were seen moving through coaches requesting money in a persistent manner. Some commuters stated that the repeated requests made it difficult to avoid interaction, particularly for families, elderly passengers, and those traveling alone.

While such situations have been reported on various routes, passengers emphasized the need for a safe and comfortable travel environment. They noted that any form of pressure or intimidation, if verified, can create unease during long-distance journeys.

Observers highlighted that such matters should be handled with sensitivity, ensuring both passenger safety and respect for the dignity of all individuals involved. Increased vigilance, better monitoring, and the presence of security personnel onboard could help manage such situations effectively.

Note: The concerns are based on passenger reports. An official response from railway authorities is awaited.
