PM Chairs NITI Aayog Governing Council Meeting in New Delhi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog in New Delhi, bringing together Chief Ministers, Union Ministers and senior government officials to discuss development priorities and policy initiatives under the vision of “Viksit Bharat.”

Focus on Human Development

According to official discussions, the meeting emphasized human development indicators, including healthcare, education, nutrition and social welfare. Participants discussed ways to improve access to public services, particularly in rural and underserved areas.

The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of ensuring that development benefits reach all sections of society through coordinated efforts between the Centre and States.

Employment and Economic Growth

Employment generation was a key topic during the meeting. Discussions focused on measures aimed at supporting manufacturing, entrepreneurship, startups, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and emerging opportunities in the digital economy.

Officials also reviewed approaches to align workforce development initiatives with changing industry requirements.

Skill Development Initiatives

The meeting discussed the importance of skill development and workforce preparedness. Areas highlighted included vocational training, digital skills, industry-academia collaboration and regional skill development initiatives.

Participants emphasized the need to equip young people with skills relevant to evolving economic and technological trends.

Vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’

The Governing Council reviewed ongoing efforts related to the government’s long-term development vision, which seeks to strengthen economic growth, infrastructure, innovation and social development.

States were encouraged to share best practices and collaborate on development initiatives suited to their regional needs.

Cooperative Federalism

The meeting also focused on cooperative federalism, with Chief Ministers and state representatives sharing perspectives on development challenges, governance priorities and policy implementation.

Conclusion
