The residence belongs to Anil Kumar Mishra, a prominent leader of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and one of the trustees of the Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust, which oversees the construction and management of the Ram temple. In 2021, this trust found itself embroiled in controversy over questionable land acquisitions that allegedly benefited middlemen associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the RSS.
