Gold Earrings Reportedly Missing After Woman’s Death in Jagtial Hospital; Probe Underway
Jagtial, April 23: An incident reported at a private hospital in Jagtial district has led to tension after family members of a deceased woman alleged that her gold earrings were missing when her body was handed over to them. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the matter.
According to the family, the woman, a resident of Nachupalli village in Kodimyala mandal, was admitted to a private hospital in Jagtial on Wednesday due to health complications. She passed away on Thursday morning while undergoing treatment.
Relatives stated that after completing hospital formalities, they took the body home for final rites. During preparations, they noticed that the gold earrings she had reportedly been wearing were not present. The family has alleged that the ornaments may have gone missing while the body was in the hospital’s custody.
Following this, family members and locals gathered at the hospital premises and raised concerns, seeking clarification and action regarding the missing jewelry. The situation remained tense for some time before authorities intervened.
A complaint has been lodged at the Jagtial Town Police Station. Police officials confirmed that a case has been registered and an investigation is underway. As part of the probe, CCTV footage from the hospital is being reviewed and staff may be questioned.
Hospital authorities have not released an official statement so far but have reportedly assured cooperation with the investigation. Officials stated that further action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
