Traffic Congestion Continues Around Hyderabad IT Corridor During Peak Hours

Hyderabad:

Traffic congestion around Durgam Cheruvu and the surrounding IT corridor continues to affect daily commuters traveling between major technology hubs including Madhapur, Hitec City, Gachibowli, Kondapur, and the Financial District.

During peak office hours, many commuters report longer travel times on routes connecting key IT areas. Roads near the Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge, Outer Ring Road exits, and several major junctions often witness heavy vehicle movement during morning and evening rush hours.

Software employees, delivery workers, cab drivers, and other commuters traveling from residential areas such as Uppal, LB Nagar, Kukatpally, Miyapur, and Secunderabad have expressed concerns regarding extended commute durations and traffic-related stress.

According to commuters, increasing office attendance, ongoing infrastructure works, rapid urban expansion, and gaps in public transport connectivity are among the factors contributing to congestion in the area. Cab fares during peak hours have also reportedly increased due to higher demand and traffic delays.

Traffic police officials have continued monitoring vehicle movement at major junctions and implementing traffic management measures, including signal coordination and diversions, to improve flow in busy corridors.

Urban planning experts have suggested measures such as expanded metro connectivity, additional flyovers, office shuttle systems, staggered office timings, and carpooling initiatives to help reduce pressure on city roads.

Hyderabad remains one of India’s major IT investment destinations, with continued growth in commercial and residential development across the western corridor. Experts say transportation infrastructure upgrades will play an important role in supporting the city’s future urban growth.
