New Delhi, May 7, 2026: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has indicated varying weather conditions across different parts of the country, with rainfall and thunderstorms likely in some regions, while several northern and central states continue to experience rising temperatures and dry weather.

According to weather forecasts, parts of northeastern and southern India may receive light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds. States in the Northeast, along with parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Kerala, and Karnataka, may witness changing weather conditions during afternoon and evening hours.

Officials have advised people to remain cautious during thunderstorms and lightning activity and avoid open spaces during severe weather conditions.

Meanwhile, several northern and central Indian states, including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and the Delhi-NCR region, are continuing to experience hot daytime conditions. Weather officials noted that temperatures have been gradually increasing in many areas due to dry weather patterns.

In western India, including parts of Gujarat and Maharashtra, weather conditions are expected to remain mostly warm and dry, although coastal regions may experience humidity and intermittent cloud cover.

Southern states are witnessing mixed weather patterns, with some areas receiving rainfall while interior regions continue to report warm daytime temperatures.

The IMD has advised citizens to stay hydrated during hot weather, exercise caution during thunderstorms, and follow local weather advisories issued by authorities.
