Mumbai Airport To Undergo Temporary Maintenance Closure for Six Hours

Mumbai, May 7, 2026: Flight operations at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport are expected to face temporary disruption due to a scheduled six-hour maintenance closure announced by airport authorities.

According to officials, the temporary suspension of operations is part of routine maintenance and infrastructure-related work aimed at ensuring runway safety, operational efficiency, and compliance with aviation standards.

Airport authorities stated that maintenance activities are generally scheduled during relatively low-traffic periods to minimize inconvenience to passengers and airlines.

Due to the temporary closure, some domestic and international flights may experience delays, rescheduling, or operational adjustments depending on airline schedules. Passengers have been advised to check flight status updates directly with their respective airlines before leaving for the airport.

Airlines are also expected to issue travel advisories and revised schedules through SMS, email notifications, and mobile applications wherever necessary.

Mumbai airport remains one of India’s busiest aviation hubs, handling significant domestic and international passenger traffic daily. Even short-term operational interruptions may affect connecting flights and overall air traffic movement.

Authorities have assured passengers that normal operations are expected to resume after completion of the scheduled maintenance work.
