The West Bengal Government successfully organized Jan Kalyan Shivir camps across the state from June 15 to June 17, 2026, with the aim of ensuring that welfare scheme benefits reached citizens directly and efficiently. Due to the overwhelming response and large public turnout, the government decided to extend the initiative by an additional day, enabling more people to avail themselves of the services offered.
The camps functioned as a comprehensive single-window service platform, providing information, guidance, and assistance related to a wide range of Central and State Government welfare schemes. Citizens were able to submit grievances, correct errors in official records, update important documents, and seek support for pending applications and service requests. Dedicated officials and staff members were present to help beneficiaries navigate various procedures and resolve issues promptly.
Thousands of people from different districts attended the camps to access services connected to government subsidies, social welfare programmes, pensions, healthcare benefits, and other public assistance initiatives. According to officials, the camps played a significant role in improving outreach and ensuring that government services reached eligible beneficiaries in a timely manner. The initiative also strengthened service delivery mechanisms, increased public awareness of welfare schemes, and enhanced access to government support, reflecting the state’s commitment to transparent, efficient, accountable, and citizen-centric governance.
