Kulgam Police Intensify Naka Checking on National Highway Ahead of SANJY-2026

KULGAM, June 18: In view of the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026, Kulgam Police have intensified naka checking and security measures along the National Highway passing through the district to facilitate the safe and smooth movement of pilgrims.

Senior police officers supervised checking operations at various locations, where police personnel conducted vehicle inspections, document verification, and frisking of suspicious individuals as part of enhanced security arrangements.

According to police officials, the measures are part of broader preparations for the annual pilgrimage and are aimed at strengthening surveillance, maintaining law and order, and ensuring the safety of pilgrims and the general public.

Police officials said that heightened vigilance is being maintained across the district, particularly along the yatra route, to prevent any untoward incidents during the pilgrimage period.

Kulgam Police have appealed to commuters and local residents to cooperate with security personnel during checking procedures and to report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.

The intensified checking drive is expected to continue throughout the yatra period as part of the district’s security preparedness plan.
