Nagpur Student's NEET Exam Center Moved from Abu Dhabi to Local Venue After Family's Complaint

In a surprising turn of events, a student from Nagpur who registered for the re-examination of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) found themselves assigned to an examination center in Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates. This unusual allocation sparked concerns and complaints from the candidate’s family, prompting the National Testing Agency (NTA) to take swift action.

The incident unfolded when the NTA announced that the NEET (UG) 2026 had been rescheduled to June 21, leading to a temporary correction window for candidates to modify their examination city preferences. It appears that during this window, the student’s registered account was altered, resulting in the unexpected designation of Abu Dhabi as the examination center. In response to the grievances raised by the family, the NTA confirmed that it would rectify the situation and ensure that the candidate would be reassigned to a center in Nagpur.

Upon receiving the complaint on Friday evening, the NTA promptly reached out to the candidate’s father to facilitate the necessary adjustments. The agency reassured that its priority is to ensure that no student misses the exam due to administrative errors. In a statement, the NTA explained that two instances were identified in which the Abu Dhabi center allocation was previewed through the candidate’s account, suggesting that the issue stemmed from the student’s own modifications during the correction period.

The NEET re-exam is a crucial milestone for students aspiring to secure admission in medical colleges across India. With a significant number of candidates participating, it is essential that such administrative hurdles are minimized. The NTA’s willingness to address this matter reflects its commitment to maintaining the integrity of the examination process and ensuring a smooth experience for all candidates.

As the NEET re-exam approaches, candidates are advised to remain vigilant about their examination center allocations and to promptly report any discrepancies. The situation has highlighted the importance of clear communication and prompt action by examination authorities, particularly in an era where students’ futures hinge on these critical assessments.
