Boost to skills Development for engineering and polytechnic students

under chairmanship of The Higher and Technical Education minister Maharashtra namdar chandrakant dada patil a review meeting was held regarding the skill development, employability, and industry readiness of engineering and polytechnic students in Maharashtra. Rather than merely providing degrees or diplomas to students, detailed discussions took place on the effective implementation of various initiatives to ensure they receive industry-oriented skills and training in modern technology aligned with the evolving needs of the industrial world.

Through the ISTE Centralized Placement Platform, Centre for Future Skills, and ISTE-Smart Bridge AI Skilling Initiative, emphasis will be placed on providing students with employment opportunities, internships, apprenticeships, as well as skill training related to AI and future technologies.

By strengthening coordination between education, industry, and technology sectors more effectively, clear, outcome-oriented, and time-bound roadmap instructions were given to the concerned authorities to guide students toward 'skills through education, employment through skills, and an empowered future through employment.

The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary of the Higher and Technical Education Department B. Venu Gopal Reddy, Director of Technical Education Dr. Pramod Naik, Deputy Secretary Amol Mutyal, Vice-Chancellor of ICT and Chairman of the Intellectual Property Committee Prof. Aniruddha Pandit, Vice-Chancellor of Mumbai University Ravindra Kulkarni, Vice-Chancellor of Shivaji University, Kolhapur Dr. Ranjnish Kamat, AICTE's Pratap Desai, and other relevant officials.
