Heavy Rain Alert Across India

A deep depression over the Bay of Bengal has brought heavy rainfall to many parts of India. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heavy to very heavy rain alerts for Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, and nearby regions. Strong winds of up to 75 km/h and rough sea conditions are also expected in coastal areas.

The weather system made landfall near the Andhra Pradesh coast and is moving inland, causing continuous rainfall, waterlogging, and flooding in several districts. Authorities have advised fishermen not to venture into the sea until conditions improve. Emergency teams have been deployed in vulnerable areas, and residents have been asked to remain alert.

The IMD has urged people to avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rain, stay updated with official weather advisories, and take necessary safety precautions as rainfall is expected to continue over the next two days.
