The Election Commission has organised special enrolment camps at colleges and universities in Delhi with the objective of maximising the enrolment of young electors. A large number of students visited the camps yesterday to seek information on the Special Intensive Revision, or SIR, and to obtain or submit electoral forms.

The camps will continue today as well. The EC said that Block Level Officers, or BLOs, present at these camps are guiding students in filling their forms, collecting the filled-in forms and resolving queries related to SIR. Another round of camps will be organised on October 7 and 8. The poll body requested all young electors to avail themselves of this opportunity to enrol their names in the electoral rolls and participate in the democratic process.

Special camps will also be held at all polling station locations on October 4 and 11 for the enrolment of all categories of electors. The Commission said that new applicants attaining the age of 18 years on or before October 1 this year should apply in Form-6 for inclusion of their names in the Electoral Roll. The EC noted that, as of now, more than four lakh hearings have been conducted in Delhi. The Election Commission also said that electors who have received notices for unmapped or logical discrepancies will be assisted by BLOs, who will visit their homes to collect documents.

The EC has revised the schedule for the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Delhi. The period for filing claims and objections will continue till October 30, while the final electoral roll will be published on December 4 this year.
