Prince Animal Welfare Foundation Launches 'Unsung Animal Hero Appreciation Initiative' in Mumbai

Mumbai, July 2026: Prince Animal Welfare Foundation has announced the launch of the 'Unsung Animal Hero Appreciation Initiative', a city-wide campaign aimed at recognising individuals who contribute to animal welfare through activities such as feeding stray animals, rescuing injured animals, arranging medical treatment, providing shelter, facilitating adoptions and raising awareness against animal cruelty.

According to the Foundation, many individuals across Mumbai work regularly for animal welfare without seeking public recognition. The initiative aims to identify and acknowledge such individuals for their contributions to the welfare of animals.

As part of the campaign, members of the public can nominate individuals who have demonstrated dedication to animal welfare. Nominations will remain open until 15 August 2026.

The Foundation said selected nominees will receive an official Certificate of Appreciation on 15 August in recognition of their contribution. Selected nominees will also be eligible for the 'Mumbai Animal Hero Award 2026', which is scheduled to be presented during a recognition ceremony in December 2026.

How to Nominate

Members of the public can submit nominations through the official online nomination form. Nominees' permission should be obtained before submitting their personal details and photographs for the initiative.

The initiative is intended to encourage greater public participation in animal welfare and community service and to recognise individuals who work for the protection and care of animals.

The Foundation has invited citizens, volunteers, animal lovers, resident associations, educational institutions, veterinary professionals, NGOs and corporate organisations across Mumbai to participate in the initiative by nominating deserving individuals and sharing information about the campaign.
