Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the Third National Conference of Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Heads of States and Union Territories in New Delhi today. The Ministry of Home Affairs has informed that during the event Mr Shah will also lay the foundation stones for the new complexes of Narcotics Control Bureau Zones in Lucknow and Dehradun.

The two-day conference, based on the theme ‘United Resolve, Shared Responsibility ‘, will focus on the progress of targets assigned to the ANTF and initiatives undertaken in combating the menace of drug trafficking and substance abuse across the country. During the event, Mr Shah will also release Television Commercials to spread awareness against drug abuse.



The Ministry of Home Affairs said that the heads of Anti-Narcotics Task Forces from 36 states and Union Territories will participate in this conference. This discussion will help the participating states, departments, and agencies to move forward with a renewed commitment towards effectively combating drug trafficking across the country over the next three years.



The national event will also seek to further deepen a future-ready partnership between Narcotics Control Bureau and Anti-Narcotics Task Force to combat drug abuse and realise the vision of a Drug-Free India.
