Nagaraja is among the 13 national vice-presidents named by BJP president Nitin Nabin as part of the party’s new national team announced on August 17.

For Karnataka, Nagaraja said the BJP organisation remained confident about the 2028 Assembly elections. He praised the party’s workers in the state and said the BJP expected to return to power.
Nagaraja’s elevation gives Karnataka representation at the national vice-presidential level of the BJP at a time when the party is reorganising its national structure. The new team brings together experienced organisational leaders and newer faces across several positions.
Nagaraja has a long organisational association with the BJP and the Sangh Parivar. He has worked with the RSS and ABVP and previously served as a vice-president of the Karnataka BJP. Party leaders in Hubballi-Dharwad have also highlighted his organisational work in the region.
