Two 14-year-old girls were seriously injured after a Tata Punch allegedly rammed into them while they were walking along the roadside near the Lavel petrol pump on the Mumbai-Goa Highway in Maharashtra’s Ratnagiri district.

The accident reportedly took place on Sunday, August 30, at around 5:10 pm in the Khed area. According to reports, the car was travelling towards Goa when its driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle and hit the two girls.

The injured girls have been identified as Mansi Kesavan Sharma and Yasmin Nizam Patait, both residents of Lavel.

Car Overturns After Collision

Following the collision, the Tata Punch, bearing registration number MH 12 TY 4381, reportedly overturned on the roadside. The accident also left three occupants of the vehicle injured, according to reports.

Locals who witnessed the incident rushed to the spot and helped the injured. The victims were subsequently taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Visuals of the accident circulating on social media show the damaged car lying overturned on the side of the highway.
