Tata Trusts–Tata Sons Dispute

Tata Trusts has questioned the validity of the Tata Sons board's September 17 decision to reappoint N. Chandrasekaran as chairman, arguing that the resolution did not meet the requirements under the company's Articles of Association. The dispute centres on the interpretation and use of the chairman's casting vote. Tata Sons has a different interpretation of the governance provisions.

IIT Bombay Student Death

Protests and an investigation are continuing after the death by suicide of IIT Bombay student Sahil Wakode. Mumbai Police have registered an FIR following allegations by the student's family concerning caste-based harassment and alleged abetment to suicide. The allegations remain subject to investigation.

Delhi SIR Notices

Delhi Road Accident

In southeast Delhi's Sarita Vihar, a dumper truck collided with a stationary crane and an autorickshaw during overnight CCTV installation work for the Delhi Traffic Police. Four people were reported dead and two injured in subsequent reports. Police are investigating the accident and efforts were underway to trace the dumper driver.
