Prajna Dutta has released his debut baritone ukulele album, Intersection Seven, featuring seven instrumental compositions inspired by multiple musical traditions and genres.
The album explores the versatility of the baritone ukulele, an instrument known for its deeper tonal range compared to traditional soprano and concert ukuleles. Music enthusiasts often describe the instrument as combining characteristics of both the ukulele and the classical guitar.
Intersection Seven includes seven original tracks, each drawing inspiration from different musical styles:
- Prelude to Prose — Western Classical
- Ole — Flamenco
- Folklore — World Folk
- Bossaball — Bossa / Latin
- Devi — Indian Classical
- En Garde — Gypsy Jazz
- Devil’s Own Blues — Blues / Roots
According to the artist, the album aims to explore musical storytelling through instrumental compositions while blending influences from global musical traditions.
Through the project, Prajna Dutta experiments with arrangements inspired by Flamenco, Indian classical music, Latin rhythms, Blues, and Jazz-based forms, highlighting the broader expressive range of the baritone ukulele.
The release reflects the growing interest among independent musicians in creating cross-genre instrumental music that combines traditional influences with contemporary experimentation.
