SSP Anantnag Reviews Railway Security Grid, Orders Foolproof Arrangements for SANJY-2026

Stresses Multi-Agency Coordination, 24×7 Surveillance, Anti-Sabotage Measures and Swift Emergency Response

Anantnag, June 29 : In a major step towards ensuring comprehensive security for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026 (SANJY), Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anantnag, Amod Ashok Nagpure (IPS) on Monday chaired a high-level security review meeting at Railway Station Harnag with senior officers of District Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), Railway Police and other security agencies.

The meeting reviewed the overall security framework at the railway station and discussed coordinated strategies to ensure the safe movement of pilgrims and the smooth functioning of railway operations during the annual pilgrimage.

Chairing the meeting, SSP Anantnag underscored the importance of seamless coordination among all security agencies and directed officers to maintain maximum alertness throughout the Yatra period. He stressed strict implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), robust access control, enhanced surveillance, anti-sabotage checks, intelligence sharing and prompt response to any security-related contingency.

The SSP also conducted a detailed review of deployment plans, CCTV surveillance coverage, baggage screening systems, frisking arrangements, emergency preparedness, traffic management around the railway station and passenger facilitation measures. He instructed officers to strengthen security at all vulnerable locations through regular joint drills, continuous monitoring and close coordination between Police, CAPF, Railway Police and the civil administration.

Following the meeting, SSP Nagpure carried out an extensive inspection of Railway Station Harnag, reviewing security installations, entry and exit points, CCTV control rooms and passenger facilities. He interacted with officers deployed on the ground and issued on-the-spot directions to further reinforce the security grid and ensure effective implementation of all security protocols.

The participating officers reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining foolproof security arrangements, ensuring seamless inter-agency coordination and facilitating the peaceful, safe and successful conduct of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026.
