Anantnag, June 24: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anantnag, Amod Ashok Nagpure, on Wednesday chaired a briefing session of Zonal Officers and Sector Officers deployed for duties related to the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026.
The meeting was held to review overall security and operational preparedness and to strengthen coordination among officers responsible for various locations along the pilgrimage route.
During the session, the SSP briefed officers on their roles and responsibilities and emphasized the need for vigilance, professionalism, and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) throughout the Yatra period.
He directed officers to maintain close coordination with relevant departments and stakeholders, ensure effective supervision in their respective areas, and remain prepared to respond promptly to any emerging situation. The SSP also stressed the importance of efficient communication, crowd management, and providing necessary assistance to pilgrims while maintaining robust security arrangements.
Officers were instructed to conduct regular field inspections and ensure timely reporting of developments to facilitate prompt decision-making and response measures.
Reaffirming the commitment of Anantnag Police to the successful conduct of the annual pilgrimage, SSP Nagpure stated that comprehensive security arrangements and coordinated deployment would be implemented to ensure a safe and smooth experience for devotees.
The meeting concluded with officers expressing their readiness to carry out their assigned duties and contribute to the peaceful conduct of the Yatra.
