Sunflower Garden near Agoratoli range Becomes a Tourist Attraction in Kaziranga.
19 April – 2026 :
At the boundary of the Agoratoli Range of Kaziranga National Park under Bokakhat Co-district , a beautiful sunflower garden has been established through the initiative of a youth group named Community Kumsung. Led by Tithiram Pegu, a young resident of Dhobaati Belguri village near the historic Garumora Jan, the cultivation has spread across nearly 9 bighas of land. With the arrival of seasonal rains, the sunflowers have blossomed vibrantly, turning the area into a golden spectacle and enhancing the scenic beauty of Kaziranga’s surroundings.
This sunflower garden, located near Garumora Jan, has now become a center of attraction for domestic and international tourists as well as local visitors. Due to smooth transport connectivity, the site witnesses the arrival of hundreds of people every day.
The growing tourist response has encouraged the youth group Community Kumsung, which undertook this initiative without any departmental assistance. For the first time in the region, sunflower cultivation has been carried out under Tithiram’s leadership. Although their dream was to expand beyond 9 bighas, the lack of seeds and technical guidance limited the cultivation. Still, the effort has proven both profitable and popular among tourists. The group also plans to promote agriculture, eco-tourism, and rural tourism in the Dhobaatib Belguri area, aiming to make local youth self-reliant through such initiatives.
