Final Phase of Polling Begins in West Bengal

Kolkata, April 29 – The final phase of polling for the West Bengal Assembly elections commenced on Tuesday, marking a crucial stage in the electoral process. Voting began at 7:00 AM and is scheduled to continue until 6:00 PM across multiple विधानसभा constituencies.

According to officials, lakhs of voters are eligible to participate in this phase, with people from different age groups arriving at polling stations to cast their votes. The Election Commission of India has put in place extensive security and administrative arrangements to ensure that the polling process is conducted in an orderly manner.

Security measures include the deployment of Central Armed Police Forces in sensitive areas, along with local law enforcement personnel. Officials stated that steps have been taken to maintain law and order and to prevent any untoward incidents during voting.

A large number of candidates are contesting in this phase, representing major political parties as well as independent groups. Authorities have also made arrangements to assist elderly voters and persons with disabilities at polling stations.

With this phase, the polling process for the Assembly elections in West Bengal moves closer to completion. Attention is now expected to shift toward the counting of votes.

The results for Assembly elections in West Bengal, along with those in Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry, are scheduled to be announced on May 4, as per the Election Commission’s timetable.
