Do Iran Was Misunderstood By US-Israel: President Trump, reportedly influenced by PM Netanyahu, stated that he is in talks with Iran. However, Iran immediately responded that there were no such talks with anybody. This contradiction has raised questions among observers. Further discussions coming from America’s military and war experts, considering the geographical terrain of Iran, suggest caution in confronting Iran, even if US-Israel combine forces, as Iran is believed to have strategically and intelligently prepared for such scenarios.

Strait of Hormuz, which is not only a choke point, is also believed to have underwater tunnels, different types of submarines, and sea mines present in shallow waters. More importantly, around 30% of internet cables going to the Middle East, parts of South Asia, and parts of Europe reportedly pass under it, and if disrupted by Iranians or Houthis, analysts suggest that financial transactions, communications, and other operations could be affected.

Iran reportedly has around 130 thermal power plants. If attacked, analysts believe that China could provide mobile solar power plants on humanitarian grounds. However, if GCC power plants were attacked, their desalination plants — the main source of converting salty water into drinking water — could also be damaged, which may worsen the situation.

In case of nuclear facility attacks, Iran’s largest centre is Bushehr Nuclear Center, where foreign technical experts, including Russian personnel, have reportedly been working. Russia has previously indicated that if such facilities were attacked, it may lead to further escalation. Similarly, reports suggest North Korea has also expressed support for Iran in case of conflict.

With warnings reportedly issued by Trump, analysts speculate that if war escalates, Iran may target data centers, AI centers, or strategic infrastructure of foreign companies in the Middle East and GCC region.

Iran, with missile dominance, is considered capable of fighting a relatively low-cost war, along with drones that can be manufactured at scale. China reportedly holds nearly 80% of global Tungsten reserves — a material mainly used in ammunition, interceptors, aerospace, and electronics — and recent reports suggest restrictions on supply to the US. Meanwhile, US-Israel operations are considered costly, mainly using air fighters and interceptors, with reports indicating Pentagon requested approximately 200 billion USD for interceptor production.

Reports also suggest US fighters are currently fuelling from distant bases and are looking for nearby operational bases. Diplomatic discussions were reportedly held with India and Sri Lanka for base access. Sri Lanka reportedly declined, and discussions are believed to be ongoing with Maldives, subject to government approvals.

What About India’s Role?

It is important to understand India’s balanced position towards US-Israel relations. In 2016, India signed LEMOA (Logistics Exchange Memorandum of Agreement). This agreement allows both militaries to use each other’s bases for refueling, replenishment, repair, and supplies (fuel, food, spare parts), but only on a case-to-case basis and subject to government approval.

India also requires energy, fertilizers, and petrochemicals from Iran, therefore India may prioritize its national interests while maintaining strategic balance rather than aligning directly in any conflict.
