Doctor Alleges ₹17 Lakh Fraud in Bhopal; Police Register Case, Probe Underway

Bhopal:

A fraud case has been reported in Bhopal, where a doctor has alleged that he was cheated of approximately ₹17 lakh by a woman, police officials said.

According to preliminary information, the complainant stated that he came into contact with the accused and developed a personal relationship over a period of time. He has alleged that the accused later sought money on multiple occasions citing various reasons.

Police said the total amount transferred by the complainant is around ₹17 lakh. Based on the complaint, a case has been registered and further investigation is underway.

Officials are examining:

  • Financial transaction records
  • Communication between the complainant and the accused
  • Any possible involvement of other individuals

Police have not disclosed further details regarding the identity of the accused. They added that all aspects of the case are being investigated and appropriate action will be taken based on findings.

Authorities have advised citizens to exercise caution while making financial transactions, especially in cases involving newly established personal contacts.
