**BJP National Lead Nitin Nabin Confident of Record Gains in South and Bengal with ‘Viksit Kerala’ Vision**

BJP National President Nitin Nabin stated that the BJP is set to mark its strongest presence ever in Kerala’s electoral history. He pointed out that the party’s vote share, which was previously at 2%, has now risen to 20%, serving as a testament to the people’s faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The progress achieved by the party in local self-government elections and key centers including Thiruvananthapuram is providing great momentum to the BJP.
Through its manifesto, the BJP has introduced the ‘Viksit Kerala’ (Developed Kerala) vision document, aiming to transform the state into a global economic power. Beyond Kerala, the BJP has placed full confidence in its manifestos for Tamil Nadu and West Bengal as well. In Tamil Nadu, promises prioritizing women-friendly schemes and farmer welfare have been made. In West Bengal, the BJP’s primary campaign weapons are large-scale employment opportunities and health schemes including Ayushman Bharat.
Record voter participation was recorded in the assembly elections held in April 2026 across Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal. According to various reports, the voter turnout in the Kerala elections held on April 9 rose to between 78.23% and 79.63%. In this single-phase election held for 140 seats, female participation was recorded at 80.86%, while male participation stood at 75.01%. In Tamil Nadu, where polling took place on April 23, the state recorded an overall turnout of 85.03%. This marks an 11.4% increase compared to the 2021 elections. Among the districts, Karur recorded the highest voting (92.65%), while Kanyakumari recorded the lowest (75.6%). The total voting percentage in Tamil Nadu was later confirmed at 84.98%. West Bengal recorded a historic polling percentage of 92.14%. Political circles evaluate that the results of these elections, which saw intense triangular contests in most constituencies and are scheduled to be announced on May 4, will be a major turning point in Indian politics.
