Law enforcement authorities have arrested a wanted आरोपी (accused) in Chandigarh who was allegedly evading arrest and residing under a false identity, officials said.

According to police sources, the accused was wanted in connection with multiple criminal cases registered in Delhi. He was apprehended following a coordinated operation based on specific intelligence inputs.

Police stated that the individual had been staying in Chandigarh for some time using allegedly forged identification documents. Further verification regarding the duration and details of his stay is currently part of the investigation.

Officials said the accused is suspected to have links to cases involving serious offences, including extortion and other criminal activities. However, the exact extent of his involvement will be determined after detailed investigation.

Authorities have initiated further inquiry to:

• Identify possible associates
• Verify documents used by the accused
• Examine links to other pending cases
