Himanta Biswa Sarma Sworn In As Assam Chief Minister For Second Consecutive Term

Himanta Biswa Sarma was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Assam on Monday, marking his second consecutive term in office.

Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya administered the oath of office during a ceremony held at the Veterinary College Ground in Khanapara, Guwahati.

Along with Himanta Biswa Sarma, four ministers also took the oath of office. Leaders from alliance partners, including Rameswar Teli, Atul Bora, and Charan Bora from the BPF, were among those sworn in.

Several senior leaders, including Narendra Modi and Union Ministers, attended the swearing-in ceremony.

According to the article, the NDA alliance secured 102 seats in the recently concluded Assam Assembly elections, with the BJP winning 82 of the 126 seats. The AGP and BPF reportedly won 10 seats each.

The NDA alliance has now formed the government in Assam for a third consecutive term.
