Blood Donation Camp Organised on 77th Year of Jagadhatri Puja in Chandannaga

Chandannagar, June 14, 2026: On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, Sri Sri Jagadhatri Mata Thakurani Bagbazar Chowmatha, marking its 77th year of Jagadhatri Puja celebrations, organised a blood donation camp at Nrityagopal Smriti Mandir in Chandannagar.

The camp was held from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM and witnessed participation from local residents and volunteers. According to the organisers, blood was donated by 77 individuals, corresponding with the 77th year of the Jagadhatri Puja celebration.

The programme aimed to raise awareness about voluntary blood donation and encourage citizens to contribute to public health initiatives.

The event was attended by MLA Dipanjan Guha, along with social workers, community representatives and other invited guests, who appreciated the organisers’ efforts in conducting the programme.

Organisers acknowledged the contribution of Mrs. Mousumi Ghosh, who coordinated various aspects of the event. The programme was hosted by Saikat Das, who addressed participants on the importance of voluntary blood donation.

During the event, Dr. Gautam Ganguly was felicitated in recognition of his contributions to the medical profession and society.

Speakers highlighted the importance of regular blood donation and noted that such initiatives help strengthen community participation while supporting healthcare needs.

The organisers expressed gratitude to the donors, volunteers, medical personnel and guests for their support and cooperation. They stated that similar social welfare activities would continue to be organised in the future.

The programme concluded with a message promoting voluntary blood donation, community service and public awareness.
