NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam: Key Changes and Important Instructions for Candidates

New Delhi, June 12: The NEET UG 2026 re-examination for admission to medical courses across the country is scheduled to be held on June 21. Candidates across India are preparing for the examination, while the National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced several measures aimed at improving the examination experience and reducing stress for students.

One of the major changes is the extension of the examination duration. The test, which previously lasted three hours, will now include an additional 15 minutes. The examination will be conducted from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM.

In another significant change, candidates will be provided with additional sheets for rough work. Earlier, only two pages were allotted for rough work along with the question booklet. This time, four pages will be available, providing students with more space for calculations and notes. The rough-work pages have also been redesigned to make them more convenient for left-handed candidates.

According to the revised arrangement, two rough-work pages will be visible immediately upon opening the question booklet. This provision will apply to candidates appearing for the examination in all languages.

The NTA has also streamlined examination procedures to minimize time lost during invigilation activities such as verification of original documents, hall tickets, and signing formalities. Additional time has been allocated for these processes to ensure a smoother experience for candidates.

Officials stated that these changes have been introduced to improve examination management and provide greater convenience to students appearing for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination.
