🚨 Night travel is hell.. Are blinding LED lights causing accidents?
Once upon a time, night travel meant cool air, quiet roads, and comfortable driving. But now the situation has completely changed. Many motorists start to feel scared after 7 pm. The reason is the high-intensity LED headlights emitted by vehicles on the roads. The effect of these lights is especially severe on highways, city suburbs, and rural roads.
People are expressing their concern that drivers are losing their vision for a few moments while driving due to the direct glare of the LED lights of oncoming cars, bikes, and SUVs. Many say that those few moments are the cause of fatal accidents. Especially the elderly, those who wear glasses, and the youth who ride bikes at night face more problems.
Previously, there was a rule that half of the headlights of vehicles had to be black stickers or black paint. That policy had some control over the oncoming vehicles from shining directly into their eyes. But now, many people do not know whether that rule is in effect or has been completely removed. If you look at the roads, many vehicles are running with very bright LED lights. People say that there is no control over them.
Companies are offering high-power LED lights in new cars and bikes coming into the market. On the other hand, some motorists are additionally installing aftermarket LED lights, which is making the situation more dangerous. Experts say that the brightness of LED lights is so high compared to normal halogen lights that the oncoming driver’s vision is completely blurred for a few moments.
There is also a big discussion on social media about this issue. Motorists are posting posts saying, “Driving at night has become like a war now.” Two-wheelers are especially suffering. Many say that they have to pull over to the side of the road as the high beam LED lights of heavy vehicles coming in the opposite direction shine directly into their eyes.
According to road safety experts, LED lights should have proper height, angle, and intensity limits. But in many places, these rules are not being implemented. They say that unnecessary use of high beams, installation of modified LED kits, and reduced RTO inspections are increasing accidents.
People are now asking the government and transport officials on the same issue. They are appealing to re-enforce the old rules and bring a black sticker or dim control system on at least half of the headlights. They are also demanding strict action against the use of high beams at night.
In fact, this problem is not just an inconvenience. It is a matter of direct concern for lives. There is concern that road accidents and innocent lives are now becoming common due to a few seconds of blindness. People say that immediate controls are needed if technological development is not to become a threat to people’s lives.
