Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the United Arab Emirates for official discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries across sectors including trade, energy, infrastructure and technology.
During the visit, Prime Minister Modi held talks with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi. Discussions reportedly covered economic cooperation, energy security, logistics, renewable energy, defence collaboration and investment opportunities.
Officials from both sides stated that several agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were discussed in areas such as:
- Energy and petroleum cooperation
- Infrastructure and logistics
- Technology and artificial intelligence
- Renewable energy and sustainability
- Skill development and workforce collaboration
The UAE remains one of India’s major trading partners in the Gulf region and hosts a large Indian expatriate community. During interactions with members of the Indian diaspora, Prime Minister Modi acknowledged their contribution to strengthening ties between the two countries.
Energy cooperation was one of the important subjects during the discussions, especially amid global concerns related to fuel supply and price fluctuations. Both countries also explored opportunities related to renewable energy and emerging technologies.
Analysts believe that India-UAE relations have expanded significantly in recent years through cooperation in trade, connectivity, investment and strategic partnerships.
The visit also highlighted the broader importance of India’s engagement with Gulf nations in areas such as economic growth, regional stability and long-term energy partnerships.
