Smoke Detected in Howrah–Raxaul Mithila Express at Howrah Station

Howrah railway station witnessed brief panic on Tuesday after smoke was detected in the toilet area of a general coach of the Howrah–Raxaul Mithila Express (Train No. 13021) shortly before the train’s scheduled departure for Raxaul.

According to eyewitnesses, the sudden plume of smoke created fear among passengers, prompting several people to quickly move out of the affected coach onto the platform as a precautionary measure.

After receiving information about the incident, personnel from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) along with senior railway officials immediately rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.

Railway sources stated that the affected coach was detached from the train as a safety precaution. Railway staff then began the process of replacing the coach to ensure the train could safely continue its journey to Raxaul.

No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident. Railway authorities are expected to examine the exact cause of the smoke detection.
