VHP Demands FIR Over Allegations of Donation Misappropriation in Ayodhya Ram Temple

VHP Demands FIR Over Allegations of Donation Misappropriation in Ayodhya Ram Temple

The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has urgently called for the registration of a first information report (FIR) concerning allegations of the misappropriation of funds donated for the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. This appeal follows the submission of a preliminary report by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to the Uttar Pradesh government, which raised serious concerns about the integrity of the donation process.

As a prominent organization within the Hindutva movement, and closely allied with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the VHP’s call for action highlights the importance of transparency and accountability in managing donations intended for the revered temple. Alok Kumar, the president of VHP International, expressed his concern over the findings from the SIT, indicating that there are substantial grounds to file a legal complaint.

According to Kumar, the investigative report revealed that security camera footage allegedly captured individuals misappropriating funds, and the identities of these individuals have reportedly been established. This revelation underscores the urgency for law enforcement to act decisively, as Kumar emphasized that no further inquiry should be necessary before lodging an FIR. He advocated for a prompt police investigation, the expedient filing of a chargesheet, and the swift hearing of the case in a fast-track court, stating, “The individuals responsible must face the harshest penalties possible.”

The call for a FIR comes at a time when devotees are increasingly demanding accountability and justice, with many asserting that mere internal investigations would not suffice. Kumar stressed that the community’s trust hinges on seeing those found guilty of wrongdoing punished appropriately. This sentiment resonates deeply among many Hindus who view the Ram temple not merely as a place of worship but as a symbol of faith and cultural identity.

The allegations of financial impropriety have cast a shadow over what is meant to be a sacred project intended to unify and uplift the Hindu community. With the temple’s construction already a focal point of national attention, any hint of corruption threatens to undermine public confidence in the ongoing efforts and the organizations behind them. As the VHP pushes for legal action, the situation continues to evolve, and it remains to be seen how the authorities will respond to these serious claims.
