Balotra bus stop faces water shortage amid 46°C heatwave

Balotra’s Chatriyon ka Morcha bus stop witnessed severe hardship for passengers as temperatures reached nearly 46°C, intensifying the ongoing heatwave conditions in western Rajasthan.

Passengers waiting for buses reported difficulty due to the absence of functional drinking water facilities at the terminal. Water taps and coolers at the site were reportedly non-operational, leaving commuters dependent on nearby shops for drinking water.

Elderly passengers, women, and children were among those most affected, as they waited for long-distance buses heading towards cities like Jodhpur and Bikaner under extreme heat conditions.

According to health advisories, exposure to such high temperatures can significantly increase the risk of dehydration and heat-related illnesses within a short period, especially in crowded public transport areas.

Several daily commuters expressed concern over the lack of basic amenities at the bus stop, stating that access to drinking water is essential during extreme weather conditions.

The situation highlights the challenges faced at public transport hubs in managing basic infrastructure during peak summer temperatures in the region.
