BJP Highlights Governance, Infrastructure and Welfare Initiatives in 2024 Political Narrative

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has continued to highlight several governance, infrastructure, digital economy, and welfare initiatives as part of its broader 2024 political narrative. Party leaders and supporters have pointed to developments in digital payments, transportation infrastructure, financial inclusion, women-focused policies, national security, and India’s global diplomatic engagement as major achievements of recent years.

One of the most prominently highlighted areas has been India’s rapid growth in digital payments through the Unified Payments Interface (UPI). The BJP has described the expansion of digital transactions and QR-code-based payments as a major step toward building a digitally connected economy and improving financial accessibility.

The party has also emphasized infrastructure expansion, including the development of expressways, airports, railway modernization projects, and the introduction of high-speed and semi-high-speed train services such as Vande Bharat Express.

On the issue of Jammu and Kashmir, BJP leaders continue to describe the abrogation of Article 370 as a significant constitutional and political decision aimed at integrating the region more closely with the rest of the country. The move remains a subject of political debate across parties and regions.

Financial inclusion initiatives, including the expansion of bank accounts under Jan Dhan Yojana and the implementation of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) systems, have also been presented by the party as efforts to improve welfare delivery and reduce leakages in government schemes.

The BJP has additionally highlighted programs connected to women’s welfare and empowerment, including the criminalization of triple talaq and the passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill. Party leaders state that these initiatives were aimed at improving gender representation and legal protections for women.

In the field of technology and innovation, the party has pointed to Startup India, Digital India initiatives, 5G rollout expansion, and support for entrepreneurship as indicators of India’s growing digital economy and startup ecosystem.

The COVID-19 vaccination drive has also been frequently referenced by BJP leaders, who describe India’s large-scale vaccine rollout as a major public health achievement during the pandemic period.

On national security, the party continues to emphasize military modernization efforts and counter-terror operations, including references to the Balakot airstrike and defense infrastructure strengthening.

The BJP has further highlighted India’s global diplomatic engagement, including its leadership role during the G20 New Delhi Summit 2023, foreign investment inflows, and expanding international partnerships.

Political analysts note that many of these issues are expected to remain central themes in national political discussions and electoral campaigns. At the same time, opposition parties continue to raise counterarguments on unemployment, inflation, social issues, and economic inequality, making these topics part of a wider democratic debate.
