Bengaluru: A delivery executive associated with Blinkit was arrested after allegedly assaulting a customer during a late-night delivery dispute in Bengaluru.
According to police, the incident occurred in the Koramangala area in the early hours of March 7 when the customer placed an order through the Blinkit app. The delivery executive reportedly reached the wrong location, leading to confusion about the delivery address.
Authorities said the customer asked the delivery agent to come to the correct address, but the conversation soon escalated into an argument. The delivery executive allegedly went to the customer’s residence, punched him in the face, and threw the ordered items before fleeing the spot.
The victim sustained a fracture to his nasal bone and later sought medical treatment. Following the incident, he filed a complaint with the police.
Police registered a case and traced the accused delivery executive, who has now been taken into custody. Officials confirmed that an investigation is underway to determine the exact sequence of events.
The incident has raised concerns about safety during late-night deliveries and the conduct of delivery personnel working for quick-commerce platforms in the city. Authorities said appropriate legal action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
