Elections 2026: Large-Scale Enforcement Drives Lead to Seizures of Cash, Liquor and Other Items Across States

Ahead of the Assembly Elections 2026, enforcement agencies and the Election Commission of India (ECI) have intensified checks across multiple states to ensure free and fair polling.

Officials have reported large-scale seizures of cash, liquor, drugs, precious metals, and other inducements being transported or distributed in violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). The action is part of routine election monitoring aimed at preventing the use of money power to influence voters.

 Enforcement Action

According to officials, flying squads, surveillance teams, and enforcement agencies are conducting continuous inspections at checkpoints, highways, and sensitive constituencies. Vehicles are being checked, and suspicious transactions are being closely monitored.

Authorities stated that coordinated efforts between police, income tax officials, excise departments, and other agencies have strengthened enforcement during the election period.

  • Flying Squad Teams (FSTs)
  • Static Surveillance Teams (SSTs)
  • Digital monitoring systems for tracking complaints and seizures

  • Prevent illegal inducements to voters
