Lucknow: Minor Boy Rescued in Alleged Abduction and Exploitation Case, Woman Arrested

Lucknow, April 2026: Police in Lucknow have arrested a woman in connection with the alleged abduction, exploitation, and attempted extortion of a 17-year-old boy, officials said.

The case came to light after the boy’s mother filed a complaint regarding his disappearance in February. Acting on the complaint, police launched an investigation that led to the tracing and rescue of the minor.

According to preliminary findings, the accused allegedly lured the boy under false pretenses and took him out of the city. During this period, the victim was reportedly kept at a location outside Lucknow, where he was subjected to exploitation and intimidation.

Police officials stated that the accused is also suspected of attempting to use sensitive material to threaten and extort money. Investigators are examining digital evidence and communication records to establish the full sequence of events.

Authorities have also indicated that there may have been attempts to manipulate identity-related documents. These aspects are currently under verification as part of the ongoing probe.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Police are working to identify any additional individuals involved in the case.

The victim has been safely recovered and is receiving necessary support.

Officials have urged the public and media to exercise restraint and avoid sharing unverified or sensitive details, considering the involvement of a minor.
