Nalgonda Police Arrest Two Persons in Connection with NTR Statue Burning Case

Nalgonda, Telangana: Nalgonda District Police have arrested two persons in connection with the burning of a statue of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and actor Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) in Nalgonda town on June 6.

According to District Superintendent of Police (SP) Sharath Chandra Pawar, the suspects were identified through the analysis of CCTV footage, technical evidence, and travel-related data collected during the investigation.

Police identified the arrested individuals as Palakuri Ashok Kumar Goud (45), a private lecturer from Hyderabad, and Elukanti Praneeth (23), a private employee from Rangareddy district.

According to the police, the accused allegedly covered the statue with old bedsheets, poured petrol on it, and set it on fire before leaving the area. Investigators stated that a Baleno car allegedly used in the incident, along with two mobile phones, has been seized as part of the investigation.

Police said the case is being investigated further and that appropriate legal action is being taken in accordance with the law.

SP Sharath Chandra Pawar stated that strict action would be taken against individuals found attempting to damage public property or disturb public order. He also appreciated the efforts of the investigation teams involved in solving the case.

Police have emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and that the accused will face further legal proceedings as per due process.
