Residents of LDA Colony in Aashiana have raised objections to a proposed vending zone planned near Gautam Buddha Park. Local residents staged a protest, claiming that the proposed construction could affect pedestrian movement, increase traffic congestion and alter the character of the residential area.
According to residents, the vending zone is being developed along the footpath adjoining the park boundary. They have demanded that the Lucknow Municipal Corporation reconsider the proposal and ensure that public spaces remain accessible for pedestrians.
People living in the area also expressed concerns about possible parking issues, waste management and the impact on nearby homes if the project expands beyond its intended purpose.
Municipal authorities have stated that vending zones are meant to provide organised spaces for street vendors while reducing illegal encroachments. Residents, however, have urged officials to hold discussions with the local community before proceeding further.
The issue has sparked debate over balancing the livelihoods of street vendors with the need for planned urban development. Residents are now waiting for the administration’s response regarding the future of the proposed project.
