Srinagar, June 20: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday said the Srinagar–Nalanda Dialogue provides an important platform to reconnect with India’s rich traditions of knowledge, learning and spirituality while helping shape a future-ready education system.

Addressing the dialogue, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized the need to strengthen India’s intellectual and civilizational heritage while preparing young people for the opportunities and challenges of the modern era. He said the initiative seeks to bridge the country’s historical knowledge traditions with contemporary educational and technological advancements.

Sinha noted that scholars from Jammu and Kashmir and Nalanda contributed significantly to India’s intellectual development and cultural heritage. He said the historical exchanges between Kashmir and Nalanda continue to serve as a source of inspiration for educational and cultural advancement.

Highlighting the relevance of India’s ancient centres of learning, he said the country’s education system should draw from its historical foundations while embracing research, innovation and emerging technologies. Such an approach, he said, can help develop skilled and globally competitive citizens.

The Lieutenant Governor stated that the shared heritage of Jammu and Kashmir and Nalanda can contribute to discussions on educational transformation and national development. He also stressed the importance of preserving India’s intellectual and spiritual traditions while integrating them into modern educational practices.

The Srinagar–Nalanda Dialogue brought together scholars, academicians and intellectuals to discuss India’s civilizational heritage, educational development and the role of knowledge traditions in shaping the future.
