On June 12, he requested HDFC Bank to freeze the party’s account, citing uncertainties related to the oversight and control of TMC’s financial affairs. Notably, Biswas claimed to act in his capacity as the party’s treasurer. However, sources within the party indicated to NDTV that Biswas had been removed from his position on June 5 after losing the Tollygunj seat to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during the Assembly elections.
