IMA Jagtial Conducts Successful HPV Vaccination Drive for “Cervical Cancer Mukt Bharat”
Jagtial, May 09: In a significant initiative towards the national mission “Cervical Cancer Mukt Bharat”, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Jagtial Branch, in association with the Jagtial Obstetric and Gynaecological Society (JOGS), successfully organized an HPV Vaccination Drive at IMA Bhavan, Jagtial on Saturday.
The drive aimed to create awareness about cervical cancer prevention and promote access to Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination among girls and women aged between 9 and 45 years. Beneficiaries were offered two internationally recognized vaccines — Cervavac Quadrivalent Vaccine and Gardasil 9 Vaccine.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. G. Hemanth, President of IMA Jagtial, stated that cervical cancer is the second most common cancer affecting women and emphasized that it is largely preventable through timely vaccination and awareness.
Dr. Ch. Padmini Kumar, President of JOGS, highlighted the scientific importance and cost-effectiveness of HPV immunization and urged all eligible girls and women to avail the life-saving vaccine.
IMA Jagtial Hon. Secretary Dr. A. Srinivasa Reddy announced that HPV vaccination drives would be organized regularly on every second Saturday of the month. According to Dr. K. Sudheer Kumar, Hon. Finance Secretary, a total of 27 beneficiaries received vaccination during the camp.
The program witnessed active participation from Dr. G. Srilatha, Dr. V. Rajitha, and nursing staff, ensuring the smooth conduct of the drive.
