Uttarakhand is set to host the 42nd edition of the prestigious All India Gold Cup Cricket Tournament, bringing together cricket teams from different state associations across India along with international participation, including a team from Nepal. The tournament is expected to attract cricket enthusiasts and sports lovers from across the region.
Over the years, the tournament has earned recognition for providing a platform to talented cricketers and has witnessed the participation of several well-known national and international players. Renowned cricketers such as Virender Sehwag, MS Dhoni, MSK Prasad and Rinku Singh have previously been associated with the tournament, adding to its legacy and popularity.
The matches will be hosted at major cricket venues in Uttarakhand, including Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Maharana Pratap Sports College and Abhimanyu Cricket Academy. Organisers have planned both day and night matches to enhance the experience for players and spectators.
According to the organisers, the tournament will continue for 17 days and feature a total of 31 matches among 16 participating teams. The event is expected to promote cricketing talent while also boosting sports culture and tourism in Uttarakhand.
Sports organisers stated that such tournaments play an important role in encouraging young athletes and providing exposure to emerging players at a competitive level.
